Pastor Adam Keath
Abundant Life
“Grace Is Enough”

Experience & Encounter

(These questions are an invitation to experience your life with God. Use them on your own or in community as you seek to follow Jesus.)

  1. What does it feel like for you to imagine Jesus looking at you with eyes of grace?
  2. How are you responding in love to what Jesus has done for you? What are you holding back in your response?
  3. What do you sense in God’s invitation to you today?

  • 9:30 am, Baker Center and Sanctuary (Contemporary)
  • 11:00 am, Sanctuary (United Worship Service)

Communion

Today we will celebrate the Lord’s Supper together in each worship service. Individual elements are available at the entrance to each venue. If you are worshiping at home, we invite you to prepare your elements (water/juice and bread/cracker) so that you can participate with us. This month’s communion offering will go to Rhodes Grove Camp to support KSC kids going to summer camps.

Prayer Tables

We believe that God works powerfully through prayer. You are invited to use the marked tables in our worship spaces to share a personal request.  Just fill out the card and leave it on the table (you do not have to provide your name), and we will pray for you.  As always, you can submit a request to our online Prayer Wall at kingstreetchurch.com/pray, or text “pray” to (717) 401-7777.

Child Dedication

Child Dedication is an opportunity for parents to commit to raising their children in the Lord. Our next dedications will occur on Sunday, June 2.  Those interested in taking part should attend the informational meeting TODAY at 11:00 am in M221.  Parents, sign up at kingstreetchurch.com/kids.

NEXT WEEK: All-Church Outdoor Service

Our All-Church Service is next Sunday, May 19, at 10:00 am.  We’re excited to come together as one large church body to worship God, hear a message from the Word of God, and celebrate baptisms. Bring a chair and join us in the Baker Center parking lot; this special service will replace our normal Sunday schedule. We’ve invited food trucks to join us on site after worship, so we encourage you to stay for lunch and connect with others.  This special service will replace our normal Sunday schedule.  (If the weather is bad, we will meet indoors at 10:00 am.)

Once More Ministries

OMM shares the love of Jesus and builds relationships by providing toiletries to those in need in our community.  They collect toiletry donations year-round in bins located in the church lobbies (each bin contains a list of most-needed items.)   You can also click here to order products on Amazon that can be shipped straight to the church.  Now is the time to bring your donations to help OMM prepare for their next distribution on Saturday, June 8.

Support Our Student Missions Fund

Twenty-three students are going on the trip to Rhode Island in June.  Today you will see displays in the lobbies inviting you to take an envelope and support our Student Missions Fund.  All donations will go into the fund to support the entire team.  Should you choose to make a gift, you will find the name of one student in the envelope with a personal prayer request.  Whether you make a gift or not, please join us in praying for the team as they prepare to serve God this summer.

Graduates

One of our favorite traditions is honoring our graduates. High school and undergrad students who wish to be included should forward a digital picture (preferably a senior photo or high quality image) to Lauren Zook. Include details about what school you have graduated from and any future plans. The deadline to submit is tomorrow, May 13; Graduation Sunday is June 2.

Annual Step Show at NETwork Ministries

Shalom:  wholeness. How do we heal from the brokenness within ourselves, our community, and our relationship with God?  The NETwork teens will take us on a journey towards redemption and restoration.  They will bring to life the book You Are Special by Max Lucado and discover what it truly means to be loved as you are.  Both of these performances are moving in their own right and point audiences directly toward Christ. Showings are Saturday, May 18, at 1:00 pm and 3:30 pm.  Seating is limited so please RSVP at network-ministries.org or (717) 264-4640.

Vacation Bible School: June 23-26
Now recruiting volunteers!!

VBS takes a large number of volunteers! We invite members of our church family to register to serve as a Crew Leader or in other serving roles. Please consider being part of this amazing adventure: visit the tables in the lobbies or sign up at kingstreetchurch.com/vbs.

VBS will be June 23-26 and includes ages 4 through completion of 5th grade.  The theme is Breaker Rock Beach, God’s rock-solid truth in a world of shifting sands (Romans 12:2).  Kids will be challenged as they discover that God’s truth never changes, everyone needs Jesus, and learn to speak the truth in love. Adventure awaits each day as kids explore tide pools, spot orcas, fly kites, and watch the mighty waves crash up against the immovable Breaker Rock! (Registration for kids begins later in May.)

Piano Concert

On Sunday, June 2, we will welcome Duncan Holmes — a gifted pianist, vocalist, and speaker — to King Street Church.  Duncan is blind and his testimony is an inspiration.  He will be leading worship at the 8:00 am service, and providing us with a concert at 6:00 pm in the evening.   A love offering will be taken at the concert.

New Summer Worship Schedule

Beginning Sunday, May 26 (Memorial Day weekend), we are going to begin a new summer worship schedule. For 13 weeks during June, July, and August, we will meet just once per hour on Sundays:

  • 8:00 am – Sanctuary (Traditional)
  • 9:30 am – Baker Center (Contemporary)
  • 11:00 am – Sanctuary (Contemporary)

Children’s Ministry News

  • Sunday Mornings, we offer ministry for children in Nursery through 5th grade at 9:30 and 11 am.  If you are new to KSC, or don’t have the KidCheck app set up yet, you can register your kid(s) online and then pick up your nametags at the Baker Center Welcome Station. Find more info HERE.
  • We are looking for Teachers, Helpers and Small Group Leaders in our Preschool and Elementary areas. Each one helps our children to explore the Bible and develop a deeper understanding of who God is.  If you would like to learn more about serving with our kids, you can also reach out to Becky Hann.

RESET on Monday Nights

RESET is a worship service and support system that lifts up Jesus as our hope in the messiness of life. It’s a safe place to heal, to grow, to start over, and to thrive.  We are a community that admits our issues and works on them together. We meet on Monday nights:  worship at 6:30 pm and open share groups at 7:00 pm.

Bible Reading Plan 2024: New Testament

It is important to read the Bible daily, and that is why we offer an annual Bible Reading Plan.  If you have never participated in the plan, we encourage you to join the more than 400 people who use these readings as part of their daily devotions.  If you are not already signed up to receive daily readings to your email inbox, sign up at bible.kingstreetchurch.com.  You can also receive daily text readings by texting DAILY to 717-401-7777.  A paper guide is available in the lobbies or right here:  New Testament 2024 Bible Reading Plan (pdf download)

Weekend Preview Emails

Most weeks, we send out a church email called the Weekend Preview which highlights a key event, ministry, or an element of upcoming worship services.  Often the information shared in this email is not offered elsewhere.  If you would like to receive the Weekend Preview, sign up here or text keyword PREVIEW to (717) 401-7777.
